Great job Jared!
Nice looking kitty, pretty freaky how loud those things can growl.

Thats good to know for future reference. Im near Graham. The lady i spoke with over the phone told me that the earliest i can get it in down there is saturday the 27th at 10 am. I have it whole in the freezer right now.

I do have a question, bear with me as i have never gone through the sealing process before; the regs say that the skull and pelt must be presented non frozen. Does this mean i cannot bring the cat in whole?

you can bring it in whole, they get a little pissed when they cant get to the teeth, and a seal hard to put in...If your going to a taxi take it after you get it sealed,thawed..Best to talk with a taxi ahead of time

Nice cat! I took one to the fish hatchery in Puyallup to get sealed. I took it in frozen. Didn't matter that the mouth was froze shut. Gamie made a tiny incision in the back leg and ran the band through. Took about 3 minutes.

No, last year Feb/March, I don't remember.

That's a great looking bobcat, is it a Tom? I would have been a little freaked out if it had growled at me   :chuckle: . I would bring it in as close to frozen as possible then get it to your taxi. I brought mine in half frozen and it wasn't a problem. Congrats on your first

Yes it was a tom. It definetly caught me completely off guard; i had no idea he was there, but for me the real worries started after i fired. He didnt drop, roll or hunch up or anything just flat out bolted. The idea of crawling around in the thicket looking for a wounded and probably even more angry bobcat in close quarters was the most nerve racking part, as i was alone. Luckily he was DOA when i spotted him.

Thanks again for the tips and info on the pelt sealing process, it came in very handy. i plan on pulling him out of the freezer 2 days before my appointment
