Found my first deer shed!
« on: March 21, 2010, 08:54:06 AM »
Last weekend dad and I went shed hunting up at our elk camp.  Dad found an area that he thought would be good for whitetail sheds.  We were walking for about 30 minutes when I spotted a shed that Dad had walked right past!  It was half buried in the pine needles, but I saw it!   :IBCOOL:
About 20 minutes later I spotted something white in the brush.  I yelled for dad and told him "I think I found something".  I found the skeleton of a whitetail spike buck.  Dad says it was probably killed by a cougar.  We didn't take the skull with us, but we took some pictures.
I can't wait for the next trip! :llam:

He's gettin' famous for finding the ones that I should have tripped over...  When he was 7 he was elk hunting with me.  I kept fussing at him for staring at his feet while we were hunting.  Late that afternoon I was stopped glassing a canyon and he yelled, "DAD, LOOK!!"  It was a 6 point elk shed.  If it had been a snake, it would have bitten me... :chuckle:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
