Prior to 2006 WY moose applications were $7. When they raised them to $75 I wrote the following letter:

Dear Ms. Fleming and Mr. Lovercheck,
I wish to express my absolute disappointment and disgust in Wyoming's increase in non-resident license fees starting this year.
I have applied for many years for species such as moose and elk, hoping that one day I might have to privilege to hunt in Wyoming.
I note that Wyoming has implemented a preference point system this year, and the cost to apply has increased by $75 for moose, and $50 for elk.
Due to this increased cost, I am no longer able to justify applying. The money I've spent previously on applications and points ($7 for moose per year) will go to waste.
Shame on your commission. You're spitting in the face of many individuals such as myself that have supported hunting efforts in states such as Wyoming.
Sincerely,
