Call me paranoid but I find it odd that they would be so evasive about why/how the cameras are being used. :dunno: If they are there for a valid purpose I see no reason for them not to just admit it. Unless the guy that placed the camera is just some werid sicko hoping to catch video of campers "answering the call of nature", or getting freaky in the woods. I doubt it's to catch pot growers though, if it was at a camp ground. I am pretty sure growers try to stay remote enough to not have to worry about people stumbling across their operation constantly.

There  was word out that WDFW had cameras out on the Pilchuck river trying to catch people illegaly keeping native steelhead.  If I remember they actually placed signs that stated this at the major access points.

I've been at trailheads with signs making folks aware of video monitoring...Tonga Ridge is one that I can remember right off hand...Lake 22 also if i remember correctly.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

i dont like them, i read an article about them doing this in wa and they got pics of wolverines in the area i hunt. well anyone could have told you they were most likely there, but what i see is gonna happen is they close off areas to hunting just like what they have done in ea wa when they found a grizzly when they find pics of animals that are "endangered"

Have they actually closed area's to hunting in NE WA because of Grizzlies or just closed the driveable roads?  Cuz I hunted the hell outta the most NE unit in the state and didn't find any area's closed to hunting, I just couldn't drive into them.

I shouldnt of said closed for hunting, i was told they were closed as in no entry at all by car or on foot so thus making it so you cant hunt there. i wasnt there to see it but i do beleive they guy that told me, maybe he miss read the signs and they just made it so you couldnt drive in the area but thats how he interpeted it

or maybe they were being evasive about it cause they don't want criminals to know what they are doing? would you want to show the other team your play book?

I did.   :) I posted that same question on page 1.
Did anyone else find it ironic that the trail cam was placed next to Lake Moultrie?  :)

I can see the future very clearly from here! Nothing to hide nothing to lose.Ben Franklin was right about us,we value safety and security over freedom and deserve neither! I bet old Ben did all sorts of weird stuff on the king's highway and in the king's wood, but what does privacy have to with liberty or conduct with freedom anyway! Hint, if Britain had had hidden cameras everywhere in the 1700,like they do today, old Ben and his criminal buddies would have all been hung in public for treason!! I know but, but, but it's in the name of progress, laws are there for our protection, think of the children,if you don't like it stay home and so on.For now just let me scan your id,we have the technology,so get in line unless there is something to hide here! Ask a Brit how they like cameras everywhere.

Odds are there is more crime going on in the woods than we can imagine. Cameras that help catch these idiots don't bother me much.
