Didn't draw the next year.
Drew the following year with two points.
Drew the following year with 1 point.
Applied for point.
Applied this year with two points.

:yike: :yike: I want to be as lucky as you,  :'(  Did you have as much luck on the other draws??

Some guys have all the luck.

Last year I drew that Eder Permit after I had all my vaction time planned so I had to adjust and just go for a couple days. Thats all I could fit in. Wished I would have had more time.

It's all dependent on what units a person applies for, and yes, a little luck thrown in doesn't hurt. But if you apply for the hunts that have the most permits and/or the least number of applicants, your "luck" will be better.

I have done fairly well over the years. At least 4 elk (3 bull & a cow that I can remember) permits and at least 3 or 4 antlerless deer permits.

But like Bobcat said, it depends on what you apply for and more importantly HOW you apply.

You lucky dog :chuckle: :chuckle: I understand it allways depends on the unit you apply, but it makes a difference on how you apply :dunno:  Do  you mean the selection of the unit :dunno:

Guess I need to amend that....Drew this year with two points.

As far as how?
A few of us have explained this to death but some still don't agree.
Basically look at the odds of drawing. (amount of permits vs. applicants) and then put them in order of hardest to draw to easiest to draw. It makes no sense to put your toughest draw as a 4th choice.

It makes sense if the hardest to draw tag is the one you want the least.  If you want the easiest to draw tag more than any of the other four, it should be the first choice.

It still doesn't make sense, because there's no chance of drawing it. It would be like putting a doe permit for a first choice and the Desert buck late rifle permit as a 4th choice. Why would someone do that?

I agree Bobcat. The easiest draw should be in the last position. If the easiest is in the first position then there is (almost) no chance of drawing your other choices.

And remember I said "Basically". There are other variables and always exceptions to the rule.

OK, that I did knew!  You drew again   I guess I am stuck because there is only one unit (49 North) that I want to hunt and that's the only choice I put in for.  Well next year I go in with three points, maybe I get lucky.  Good luck to you!  I get mine in August :IBCOOL:
