CameralandNY?
« on: March 18, 2010, 07:23:43 AM »
Has anyone here used this company to purchase optics?  Have heard good things on other hunting sites about them, but thought I'd check with HuntWA brethren to see if anyone had used them in the past.  Thanks for any input.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I've used them too...good stuff, really good deals at times too...check the demo's section.

they just picked up Zen-Ray as an authorized dealer too.

I've sent Doug a few dollars the last few years. Great company to deal with. Whenever I'm looking for optics other then Leupold I always start my search
on the Cameraland website, checking for demo's.

One deal and they were great....ended up returning product but that's not their fault.

I was looking for a new spotting scope and Doug turned me on to a Bushnell that I wouldn't have even thought about for a lot less than I thought  I'd have to pay.  It is perfect for what I use it for.   I can usually wait till I can find a screaming deal on something I need so most of my scopes come from other places.  My latest is a new Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5x10x40mm for $259 last week .

Only bad thing is they don't carry Leupold.

Guess that would be a matter of opinion. ;)

As I said I don't have a problem with the company but you have to wonder why they wouldn't sell one of, if not the only, optics that are made in the USA.

Maybe they prefer to sell a better product :dunno:

Actually I believe they don't handle Leupold because they can't discount Leupolds because Leupold requires them to sell at a certian price.  Why would anyone buy a Leupold from Camaraland if they can get it localy for the same price. I'm sure if it is really important to you you could just give Doug a call and ask him.

Leupolds are the same price everywhere.  If you want one find the closest store: Cabelas, Wholesale Sports, Big5...it doesn't matter.
