First Bobcat called in!!
« on: March 18, 2010, 02:52:57 PM »
Well had my first Bobcat called in the 5th of March. Not here in WA as I was on vacation in TN. My dad has a pretty big farm and since he is 76 it has gotten pretty grown up over last 10 years or so. Anyway 2nd set I was in a holler and set up looking out into a small pasture about 100 yards in front of me about dusk. After 15 min of a cottontail distress 7 Whitetail came thru pasture. I had just bought a Primos double reed distress that day so started on that after deer left. After maybe 8 minutes of that I see what I thought was a coyote come into far end of pasture. When I looked thru binocs it was a really light colored bobbi. This guy trotted right straight thru middle of pasture heading my way. He stopped couple times and I would blow the call pretty soft and on he would come. Finally 40 yards at the most he stopped and was staring at me. I sneakily raised the binocs and that was enough to send him back the way he came. Guess he saw me move... Anyway very next evening I went back down there and sat within 20 yards of day before spot. Called that same Bobcat in again but this time he only came within 60 yards and sat on a fallen tree looking at me. He was sitting there and the 7 deer came thru again heading up a cowpath and scared him off. Wasnt hunting but thought it was pretty cool to call same guy in 2 days in a row.
