Fletching supplies

I'm going to go out this weekend and get the needed supplies to fix my own arrows. I'm thinking the Arizona E-Z fletch, blazer vanes or 4" duravanes. What do wraps actually do besides look different?
Any advice before I go out and buy the wrong or inferior stuff would be greatly appreciated.

I like both Blazer (2 inch) and Vantec (4 inch) vanes.  I went with a bitz fletching jig and have no experience with the Arizona.  Wraps just add a little weight to the back of the arrow.  I am not too fond of them.  Tim's Goat Tuff glue is what I use, and you'll need something to scrap  the old/messed up fletchings with.  I use a potato peeler.  Acetone to clean up the old glue and your in business.  If you are fletching brand new arrows u might need to ruff them up a TAD with very fine grit sand paper.

i would definitely go with 2" blazers as far as the fletching the arizona is quick and easy but the other styles where you put one fletch on at a time are better because you can do more stuff with them like four fletch or buy buy extra clamps and have straight or helical my   also be carefull with the glue i have had the best luck with aae products goat tuff is also good hope some of this helps good luck and have fun

You can't beat the Bitzenburg jig.  And if you are going with the with the Blazers then I would use the Saunders NPV.  The Blazers have a wierd base to them and the NPV works great and they won't pop off in extreme cold weather like they will with a lot of fast set super glues.

Do yourself a favor and your pocket book.  Just go down to wal mart and buy some of the Loc tite super glue or gel for 3 bucks instead of 12 for goat tuff.  That is if you want to go the super glue route.

I do alot of wood turning, pens and msc toys. I wonder if the CA glue for pens is the same. Ive got lots of thick and thin. Ive never shot blazers but hear good things and they seem to be stocked locally. I'm just going to run down to wholesale sports or cabela's hopefully get one stop shopping.

goat tuff glue/gold tip glue is the only glue i use. i really like my martin j8 very much. but the bitzenburg are the premo jig out there. i love the blazer style vanes all i shoot on my compounds. but i prefer the vanetec hp 99% the same it just has a better cup on the bottom of the vane for the glue were the blazer is flat and a little harder to get to stick. i will not shoot a arrow that is not wraped. a few reason why i like them yes they add a little more weight which for some the 10-20 grains is great because some setups to meet washintongs laws need help hitting the min like my wife her arrows with no wraps are 290-295 and have to be 300 so with the wrap she is 300-310grains. also heps to find arrow and see them in flight. and also you do not have to clean the arrow before fletching with a wrap. also the vanes stick very very very well on wraps and i recomend them for begginers.

i use goat tuff, blazers, a wrap, and a helical jig. wraps are said to stiffen your spine a little. (dont know how true that is) the biggest benefit i have got from wraps is the fletchings seem to stick to the wraps a little better. you also wont have to scuff up your shaft before putting the vanes on, that makes it easier to take fletchings off when you have to redo them too.
