I just got this buck mounted probably 4-5 days ago so it is not finished . I got a bnch of pics that kind of go through the process I will post up. I will start from the bare form and end with the mounted piece. This is a monster blacktail, one of my favorites . I feal pretty lucky to be able to mount this buck for him, thanks Logger  ;)

First pic is the bare form, then I show the cape all detailed out. After that I bucked the  nose off so I could hog out the nasal detail as per referance and then bondoed the thing back on

I think the 4th pictures shows my fix on the skull cap, it had half of the back part of the skull blown off so I fixed it with bondo/fiberglass mixture.

On to the next pics.

Next is getting the form prepped for hide paste. Then the claywork to the face so I can start slapping the hidpatse on , and then off to streaching the cape onto the form!

And the groomed head, remember this is not a finished head. It is in the process of drying at the moment.

Awesome!  I definitely don't have the attention to detail to do that kind of work...  great job charlie!  How many hrs does it take you to pull the cape on, sew it up and work all the details into the face?

What a buck.  I think that's the one you showed me when I was there last.  Unreal 3x3!  He's going to be very pleased.
