Sony Homebrew help
« on: March 27, 2010, 04:18:53 PM »
Hello all,
I have been putting a trail cam together using the sony homebrew posts that were on here about a year ago, most of the info. was from Bones, great info by the way.  I have run into trouble.  I have everything put together using a sony w90 and a yeti board, but when I test it the camera turns on but will not take a picture.  The board is for a w80, but I believe this should also work for the w90.  It takes picture if I manually short the shutter wire, and I have also used a small wire to short the contacts on the board and it will fire then as well.  So far I have tried it with all dips off and with only number 6 on.  Just wondering if anyone knows what my problem might be.
Thanks,
Ben

Have you let it go through the arming proccess? This usually takes I think 30 seconds. Any movement it senses delays the arming time. I have built 3 of them now. Where are you located?

Yeah I am pretty sure it had gone through the arming time.  I messed with some of the switch's and then put them all back to off.  I really didn't change anything else but it is now taking pictures.  I spent a couple hours dinking around with it and I still don't know why it didn't work to begin with.  The multiple picture mode still doesn't look like it is working though, it will take 1 pic and stays on for a little longer and then powers down without taking a 2nd pic., then if there is still movement after the delay it will power back up and take another single pic.  I Am just glad that it is now working, kind of.  What switches do you normally have on when the camera is out in the field?
Thanks,
Ben

try changing the wires around where they hook up to the Yeti board.
