What about the grasshopper infestation this year??

Are grasshoppers on the turkey's menu? If so, there should be some fat turkeys by this fall.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

YEP..I have seen them fill up on them..same with some grouse.  Insects are high on a wild turkeys diet.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!

The grasshopper hatch usually coincides with the poult hatch. Great food for the  youngsters to get a headstart.

The great Chukar population and hunting in the early 80's coinsided with a large grass hopper crop.
