Congrats to you and your boy!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Cody missed 4 birds today. 1 at 20 yards at first light, the rest at about 25-30 yards. First one i think he was really nervous and shot the ground in front of the bird and then he over compensated and shot over the top of the next 3. The first one he missed had a beard that touched the ground.
Oh well he had a blast. And he learned that you can still have a good day hunting without killing something.

Well, we got 'em to move to withing 25 feet of us this morning, but me boy was either too nervous, the brush was a bit too high, or the turkeys wouldn't hold still quite long enough. His first time and all 'ya know. He got the bead on a couple as they came up behind us (sometimes they don't respond like they "should"),  ;)  but I think he had a good time any-hoo.

Thats what its about....a good time.

I should mention, that bird of my oldest son's looks definatly like a cross! The main body of the feathers are the color of a Rio, but the edges match a Meriams....We held it up too the tail feathers of both. Wish I'd thought of taking a picture of all three.
