Hey Elknut, I could sure use another bugle, I need to start carrying 2 as I seem to get absent minded and lose mine from time to time!  Last year drove couple hours in to hike in spot only to discover no bugle tube.  In a pinch I opened the hood on my cj jeep and yanked of a 2" tube approx. 12" long hanging off the firewall.  Did manage to call in a couple bulls that night, it wasn't the jeep's fault I couldn't close the deal!  So as long as I keep driving the jeep, I guess I'll have a spare, share with someone else.  BAM

You are the Man Elknut!

I would throw my name in the hat as I am just starting into archery elk, but I can afford to buy one and would rather see it go to someone who really needs it.  Especially a young person who really needs the help. :)

well i dont really know how to start this but ill have a try at this...first off i would like to thank you for what you are doing and what you are offering to all of us..... thank you for the bugle....secondly i would like to say that i think i deserve this bugle....see i joined the military 4 years ago and my hunting and fishing life has been on hold because of the work i do. see i have been stuck in central america working with anti-narcotics and migration and decided that the work i was doing down there just wasnt for me so i decided to go to aviation school which would keep me here on the main land. so in late 2006 i got tansfered to southern oregon were i completed a airman apprenticeship program that was held back for 8 months due to breaking my ankle....so after waiting for my ankle to heal and finally getting a second set of orders i finnaly made it to school. great ole' North Carolina, last place on earth i had ever wanted to be. but again another 5 months finishing my School there and i was off again. see alot of moving is expensive, but moving from West coast to the east coast and then back is Rediculously expensive. sort of put me and my wife in hardship for about 4 months but now its been a full 6months here and we are getting back on our feet. but good luck has come to being stationed here at home, well close to home. could have been the best thing for me and my wife. theres nothing better than frienhds and family and that is who we like to contain our selves around....but with all that said being here and being there the most that i have been able to do is take a week to two weeks off for hunting. see i only took time for deer hunting because of my irregular schedule and everything that i use to do as a young child that my dad raised me up doing has pritty much gone away because of my work. i use to do everything with my father...see i have been lucky lately to get the time off i could because it use to be that i was just out there in the woods with my dad....it was our bonding time and now it has become something more to me....it has become a second life, my passion. something that me myself enjoy doing more than life itself....i dont honestly know what i would do with out deer hunting....but now that i grow older my father changes his course and has consentrated more on Elk.  and now that i have been so lucky to have just recently been stationed here in washington(back home) i plan to do my usual deer hunting but have plans this year to devote time towards learning how to elk hunt, to learn what my father does, and hope that as my dad sees and loves elk hunting that it will soon someday mean the same to me as hunting deer does also...... so this year like i said before i am planning on hunting elk for the first time with my father and think that it would be oftly neat if i could get this bugle and learn how to call so that i could impress my father and install that smile on his face that i love seeing every year i get a deer....but hopefully this time it will be the elk that my father helps me get with the call that i get from you....This is the reason i feel that i deserve this call.......again thank you............AJ

Coasthunterjay, you obviously are a "do it yourself man", and giving you a freebie would just ruin this and your story. Think how better your story would end, if you bought yourself a bugle, that you used it to call in your dad's elk!!! All on your own! Wow, wouldn't that be cool!!!???

Besides, you wouldn't want to take this bugle from some kid would you?  :chuckle:

Tried to get my daughter to post on here, but she kept telling me we could just go buy one too.  She also said, "You have to do the calling Dad, I want to shoot."  Man do I love hearing her say that!  Now if she can just get her grades up so she can hunt...... but that is a whole 'nother story. >:(

AJ,

I can't wait to hear Tat's comments on your story, he is going to love that. Even if it is true.

As for the call,  I would like it myself, I'm not going to lie I'm poor and can't afford to but one. The End

She is an Honor's student in 4 classes, but is deciding she dos not want to work at school.  I would be happy with C's, even though I know she is far more capable, but even those seem to be hard to come by this year!   :bash:
She is a stubborn 14 year old know it all, but I love her just the same!

Sounds like school is tough on some here! Hang in there it's worth it in the long haul! I ended up taking a GED test & getting my diploma that way, worked for me but it's not for everyone!

The response here is overwhelming!!!! I only have one bugle though, what a dilemma???? I'm thinking of throwing in some CDs here, how about Vol-1 of our Set Bugling Bulls & Beyond? It will show you what elk sounds mean what & when to use them & what situations you'll hear them in, hey it's a good start. If you own any kind of elk call it would be nice to know when it's most effective!

Todays Wednesday, I'll pick a winner/winners!! I'll post a new thread for that & what I decide! Thank You all so much!!
