AJ's First Gobbler
« on: April 03, 2010, 09:25:43 AM »
Hello All:
Every year I try to take someone out and introduce them to our favorite passion.
This year we took AJ on his first turkey hunt.
I was able to get permission to an exclusive area and the early morning action didn't disappoint. This tom was called into no less than 5 feet and was eventually taken at 25 yards or so from a well placed 20 gauge shot.
AJ did a great job and has a fine trophy to boot.
I'll throw in a free tail and beard mount to make the memory complete

Congrats AJ

Jeff

Congrats to AJ. Way to get it done.

Kuduman - Kudus to you for taking him out and showing him the way it is supposed to be. Awesome job with the tail fan and the beard plaque, that is what it is all about. Seeing the smile on their faces. It just dont get any better than that.

That right there is what it's all about.
way to go Kuduman.

Thanks for all the nice comments.
We are also going to host a disabled veterans hunt starting this turkey season, I've already selected the hunter who has decided to pass the hunt on to his son. I'll post up some pictures after the hunt. I thought it was way cool that a dad would rather see his son harvest a bird than take one himself.

I hoping for good weather for the opener.

Good for you and AJ - I love when my friends and family get their bird ... but they don't because they get a "turkeydancer" hug ... scares the life out of them !   :yike:

You'll never lose that feeling when you see them succeed.  :IBCOOL:
