Free: Contests & Raffles.
I got the deer last year and bought it online. You guys remember these are not the official results yet so don't expect to be able to buy them right now...probably in a day or so I bet.
So Im just curious to all of you who put in for tags in other states, do you know the back door into they're results? Im gonna assume not, and only because I have never heard of it or read it on this site, unless I missed it. I am also wondering why you think its ok for our state to mislead us or show us a little smoke and mirrors. Why not just get they're *censored* together and do it right. So when I asked the gentlemen today why this happens (results being posted and not official numerous times) and he says and I quote "we hit the wrong button", and Im the one who looks like a *censored* for thinking enough is enough and making a phone call. And yes I understand there is nothing posted announcing the results, but when you can simply click on hunting, then click on special permits and apps, and then right there at the top-middle is a link to check drawing results to click, seems pretty much advertised to me. Maybe Im missing something I don't know.
“Real” Draw DayNothing too much different from a test draw happened July 11th. A few more people watching (citizen witness, program/division heads). A preliminary numbers test is done to compare what we got on the test server, and what happened on the live server. And the draw is signed off as complete and legit – but not verified. This is when you hear “DO NOT TRUST THE RESULTS UNTIL YOU SEE THEM POSTED ON THE FRONT PAGE”. The auditing starts all over again. This is where last year we found that some (we are talking less then 2%) of the entries did not have their bonus points included. Eventually it was found that a small change on the partial copy test we did, messed things up. And we had to start the ping pong game all over.So what’s next? If everything checks out tonight (yea those 4 are still working as I write) and Monday morning, results will be officially posted. If one tiny little piece is out of whack its last year all over.So now the good news after the last doom and gloom sentence. Things have been looking good. Submittal deadline was dead on, very (and this very very very) few mistakes were found on the applications, testing and re-testing came up with small glitches but nothing major, and not too many “I got a connection high up” people. We learned (yea I know hard to believe) from our mistakes from previous years. Confidence is pretty damn high around the building. Now don’t get me wrong. Until you see that link on the front page of the hunting section, the results you may have seen are not valid. So if a problem does happen between now and then please don’t say “You pulled my dream hunt from me”.
