Rays 2009 Fall Bear Skull (MN Taxidermy)
« on: April 08, 2010, 11:35:37 AM »
Here are a few pic's or Ray's 2009 Fall Bear Skull.  I havn't had a chance to sit down and do a score on it I will get that up later tonight.  This Bear had a really WIDE head.  It was finally sunny for a few minutes today so ran out and got a few pic's.

This is one of those times pics DO NOT do this thing justice..Id hate to say anything positive about Ray ;)  but this skull is MASSIVE!!

Ive held it 3-4 times and in a pile of 7 or 8 nice shooter bear skulls this one easily stands out as the biggest!

Im not sure how the record book boys rate width versus whatever on bear skulls...but dang this one is wide...hard to imagine live it coulda got its head in a damn 55gal drum ;)

I think Michelle fluffed it up in the pics to make it look wide. I'm guessing 17.5 inches.

I'm guessing 18 14/16 He's not a real old bear evident by the short comb (ridge on top off head toward the rear). But damn he is wide for a 4 or 5 yr old bear. Nice job Michelle and nice bear Ray :)
