Sometimes it takes the right call to bring in a bird. Don't ask me why. The year I first used the aluma slate call, I called in every tom I worked. Hasn't been as good as that first year. I keep tight rubber bands around the box calls so as not to squeak while walking.

I've got too many calls ... usually carry at least 1 box (out of 7), 1 pot (out of 5), 1 tube call, & at least 6 diaphragms (out of about 30 left after throwing away about 30) ... will pull out the wing bone and scratch box later on if needed. Way too many darn calls ...
