peone area has good numbers of deer and occasional elk. but it is all private land and in my experience permission is not easily granted. so close to town everyone asks to hunt. are you going to rifle hunt or MZ or archery? with close houses people are more likely to give archery hunters permission. put some time in and meet everyone you can and have fun.
