Do a little checking sometimes you can find a good cheap cape and then the taxi bill is cheaper if you have a cape that is ready to go
If it aint broke, dont fix it.

First off how big is your elk?  Got any photos?

I charge between $750 - $900 for an Elk Shoulder Mount.

The size and what I pay for the cape dictates the price.  Also if I have to buy a cape from another taxi.  Typically between $125 - $300 for the cape.

Make sure you get all the hunters and tag information with any cape you buy.

Hunters Name,
Hunters Address,
Wild ID #,
Doc # off ELk Tag,
GMU and County killed,
Date Killed

Just curious  Is that required on a cape that is tanned already?

when you say doubble eye gaurds that is not right because they are 2 diffrent normal points the 1st and the 2nd points. the first tine can be called eye gaurds but that is a deer hunters term for elk tines. i was just pokin fun but now you know you will sound allot better calling him a 4pt bull and that is allot better than saying a 2pt bull. hope this helps matt.
