PSE Bowmadness XL
« on: April 14, 2010, 10:08:02 AM »
Anyone shoot this bow?

If so what do you think about shooting it with fingers?

I'm looking for a new finger bow. Thanks.

ATA is long enough that you should be fine with the right rest. I shoot the XS w/ 28.5 ATA I have never tried fingers, but sure there would be alot of pinch. The XL is a sweet bow

the Bowmadness XL is one of the best bows PSE had last year. I shot a deer and a Turkey with one last year. the bow is fast and aims very well.

Ive heard from a guy that had one that they were kind of unforgiving with the riser being so tall on the XL. I havent talked to many who have actually shot the bow. How did you feel it was as far as forgiveness? The guy said if you dont have the anchor point exactly the same the bow will shoot all over the place.   ...may have been the archer more than the bow. I would think a longer bow axle to axle would make it more forgiving.

I just cant get myself to shoot with a release and I want a flatter shooting bow. I currently have a PSE Dakota 70# draw which is 40" axle to axle, I can shoot it OK with fingers I would think the XL might be a decent finger bow at 36"

usually the longer the more forgiving, i have shot that bow allot and was really thinking about getting one for the wife as a wedding gift but bought her a kobalt instead very good bow shoots well is fairly light. i would say it is allot like the new axe very smooth the axe is just a Little better bow  :twocents:

I have never seen a bow shoot in the same spot if you dont anchor in the same spot.... :dunno:

The madness XL is a awsome bow!
I shot several animals with mine last year and won a handful of 3D shoots as well.
It is a VERY forgiving and accurate bow!
I have shot some of my best scores with this bow and would reccomend it to anyone.

As far as being a fingers bow, I think that would depend on your draw lenth. As long as you don't have a real long draw length the string angle shouldn't be to harsh.
