It's kinda funny with the name WASHBCBOOK why you would be asking what are the best units to to put in for "the best of the best" bull elk in WA..................sorry, but it cracks me up.

Judging by your past posts you are a disabled hunter so will that limit where you can go or what kind of country you can access?

hey guys well ill explain my question
first off yes im a disabled crossbow hunter so im asking for the top units you would go for if drawn i cant walk to long
but i can sure give it my all..I ve been using acrossbow for 4 seasons im 2/3 in elk
i want a unit #1 that hold big bulls yes i knoe peaches ridge, blues observatory,toutle,and others
i was just seing what other huntrs might do in my situation as for my user name washbcbook
im in the records book for blacktail deer not elk..oh i have a few points

unless you have a bunch of points you aint gonna draw a good tag. unless you are lucky but you can put in for disabled, and big bull and take the better tag.  The new regs are out take a look at the odds good luck.  I here there are some good bulls in Hanford.

Well since you can only apply for two Quality hunts, and it sounds like you don't have the maximum number of points possible, I would suggest applying for two hunts that have the highest number of permits available, that are rut hunts. Just looking at the new regulations, I would say go for Goose Prairie and Observatory bull elk archery permits. If you draw Peaches Ridge you might be disappointed this year because it is now open for the general archery elk season, which it never has been before, and it will be crowded. Goose Prairie and Observatory have relatively high numbers of permits and low numbers of applicants.

What are you seeing that im not about peaches ridge it looks the same to me?

They changed Bumping and Nile from antlerless and spike to spike only, and to make up for that, they have opened Little Naches (which is part of Peaches Ridge) to the general archery elk season, for both cows and spikes. A lot of people will be moving from Bumping/Nile to Little Naches.

i like  the idea of this  thread.its  fun to speculate what we  all would do.  personally i am doing points for everything this year i think.  if i was you i would try for the mudflow  bull permit at st helens.  good luck and keep us posted on what you choose

WELL the new regs are out since im a disabled hunter they have a new hunt in toledo cow only and ethel cow only those are gimmies
im still throwing around the idea of a east side hunt west side ive put in for mudflow toutle margret the usual units..I WANT A BIG BULL

If you can't hike more than 3 or 4 miles from the road then I probably wouldn't put in for Bumping as access is a bit tough.
