Multi Season Paperwork
« on: April 14, 2010, 02:59:49 PM »
Does anybody know when we will recieve paperwork for our multi-season tags?  I haven't gotten anything from the WDFW but I got selected for both deer and elk?  I think I heard the 23rd was the day to buy but I haven't heard when we will get our instructions to purchase?  Is it by mail, email?

I think you will get a notice in the mail. I also heard the 23rd is the first day to purchase, so be ready to log on to the internet at 12:01 a.m.

I read it is first come first served, meaning some people drawn are SOL if they run out?

yes they over drew deer by 500 and like 250 elk so those people are sol but i don't think there is going to be 2,600 tags sold by 12:05am

If you don't buy the permit before sold out, do you get your points back?

The person I talked to told me No.

I got my paperwork on Thursday.

That sounds about right. I sent them a note of gave them hell, why would you plan a draw that way? Dumber than dumb. You win an opportunity to lose your points for nothing due to inept planning. I don't get it. I hadn't planned on purchasing mine until later, guess they made my plans for me. There's going to be 600 more people that think the DFW bites a frankfurter. :dunno:, they keep winning friends.

I will have to call the dept and make sure, but i thought you had to turn in your regular tags to get the multi tag. Thats how it has worked in the past, so my question is, how are we supposed to buy our tags on line at 12:01 if we have to turn in the other tag????
“In common with”..... not so much!!

I doubt it, but ... could this be a way to help prevent antis from getting tags? I have heard that antis will apply to get tags to take them away from hunters, but then if there is an extra hoop to jump through, maybe fewer of them actually buy the tag?

More likely, it is just a way to make sure that they maximize revenue by selling out all the tags.

why do you all think this 1st come 1st served method is gonna change anything, there will still be multi season tags left over a month after they go on sale, dont panic there are still a lot of people that put in then say "whoa its $180, i aint buyin that" but those same people will apply again and draw again next year

If the entire quota doesn't get purchased, then they should just leave it at that. But, they must have had some kind of idea from previous years how many extra they needed to draw, in order to sell all the permits. So I doubt if there will be any leftovers.
