Called a friend over by Spokane. He said he has seen a number of toms, but not many hens. Yesterday, two toms went at it on a road. Blood everywhere. Both were too weak to get out of the way of the traffic. Head and necks were torn up.
He said both had 8 to 9 inch beards.
So while some areas the turkeys are henned up, in others the male/female ratio leaves gobblers without hens.
When I get to my spot tomorrow, I will see for my self.
The word is though that the turkeys are up higher due to some nice weather and possibly food.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

I think when the hens start sitting you see alot more toms durring the day and they fight over the few hens that are up and around.  Fun to call at that point.  The birds were very high on the youth opener.  Good Luck
If it aint broke, dont fix it.
