Lil Bone spent the first half as a forward and as a midfield, and she was instrumental at keeping the ball in front of their goal. A couple key players were out, including ou best defense"man". The goalie only had two shots at her in the first half. One that went by her and one that bounced off the post. Well.....they either had a pep talk at the half or the dynamics of the game changed. Lil went into the goal and she had
20 saves. I only caught a couple on film. One was unreal, and I didn't even have my camera up. Both sets of parents (both teams) cheered for her. I don't know how she pysically changed direction in mid flight and stopped the ball, then had sense enough to cover it. Tears of joy...hell I have them now thinking about her on the field. Coach was infuriated with the team as they were all standing around. He wasn't upset with the Lillers though. He came and congratulated her, along with a Stryker coach that was watching from a distance.
I am shooting the 70-200. Its the perfect lens for soccer.
