In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

My biggest disappointment in the game dept. is having us keep track of harvest, and they use our data to make all these decisions.  If we fail to report the data, we get fined.  We're doing most of the work, yet our license fees keep going up.  When you call them, you get some college uneducated putz that doesn't have any experience, and doesn't have any passion for his/her job.  I'm not much for bureaucracies.  It's just a big ass waste of taxpayer money.  All of the paper work and other b.s. just takes any spiritual meaning out of our hunts.  Just bogs us down with baggage.

The wdfw isn't about managing wildlife.  It's all about managing you, the sportsman.  That's what sticks in my craw.

Tell me who in the wdfw really gives a rat's ass about habitat and sustaining huntable populations of game animals?  They're just milking a job.

Change in permits because it screws those of us that have settled for applying for meat hunts and not trophy hunts.  You should only be able to apply your current points to ONE category of your choice.

I selected "other" but no wolf hunt was my second choice.  Other for archery anterless opportunities being taken away while still available for other user groups.

I agree with this even though I selected no wolf hunt.  There are no archery antlerless deer permits in the GMU's I will be hunting for archery yet there are for everyone else.

No surprise about not having a wolf season.  I do wish there was a season and a bounty on them.

I also think there should be a general spring bear season across the whole state, year round cougar season, and more limitted antlerless harvest for deer and elk.  Oh......and more opportunity for the hound guys.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

The ability for moose special permits applicants 65+ and 16- to apply for up to 8 hunts and not lose any points in the other categories in which they don't draw.  If you're disabled, you get 9 choices. >:( Did my odds go up? NO! WDFW says that was one of the reasons for going to this system. To please all the 'hunters' that are bitchin' about having terrible odds for hunts. Garbage.

"hunting in a Changing World"

http://www.seasonsend.org/

I would love to hear what they attribute to global warming...I bet its the reason the Colockum herd is suffering and it must be the culprit for the sheep die off and the decline in the methow muleys....

I bet they even have "Warming data" that shows too many black bears and cougars are killed too.  Hell it might even be the reason we need to shorten archery seasons!  SAVE THE PLANET!!!

I just wanted one branch bull tag....That is what I put in for. Now all the meat hunters will have access to the branch tags, and it goes the other way too! Cause I can now put in for cow hunts. I just want one set of fair elk antlers on my wall that I killed. I am borrowing a 5x5 that my Dad got on a hunt we went on togteher when he drew a tag. I dont like the new permit thing, Just another way for WDFW to make more $$ on app's.

Other;  We only hunt two different GMU's.  I've been asking for years why I have to make a weapon choice before I put in for the permit.  I want to put in for archery, muzzle, and rifle in these two GMU's.  If I'm drawn, then that's what I'll use.  I shoot archery matches all summer, used to shoot f-class rifle, I've never shot competition with my musket, but I feel very confident that I can shoot it as well as it will shoot.  I just don't like having four area choices, when I only want to hunt two GMU's.

Either allow us more weapon choices or allow me to put in one GMU as all four choices.

This year, 65+ year old hunters were given two choices of GMU, but the application you pay for allowed for 4 choices!  NOT!  It's on the top of page 55.  Read it and you will just laugh.  It's this kind of crap that ticks me off the worst.  Believe me, I called, I tried entering more choices, but it wouldn't let me enter more than those two choices, even though I purchased an application for four choices.  It's all a money grab this year.

Rant done, thanks.

I choose no wolf hunt but there are many others I would like to see and some I wish were not implemented. I would like to see them go back to one moose allowed in a lifetime. The reason being there are so many who apply that may never get drawn. I really don't care if you are a youth or master hunter or whatever........you draw a moose tag and fill it...cow or bull, your done. That is something I would like to see.

As it stands now one can draw a cow moose...fill it and then draw a bull moose and fill it. I know it is far fetched that one would draw both in a lifetime but I bet it happens and there are people here who have shot more than one moose. I have never got drawn for moose but have also only put in for bull moose. Now I will start to put in for cow as well because I will still have points for bull and maybe be able to shoot both. I would gladly give up a chance for a cow moose to let someone else who has never killed one get a chance. OK thats my Bit@h. I'm done now.....I'm going fishing.  :)       Just my opinion and  :twocents:

Other, Fees going up :bash:  Where is the money going?  An explanation would be great, but we will never get one.  I buy my permits every year in hopes of getting drawn just like everyone else. This year there are so many permits to buy, I purchased most of them, and I guess I am overly optimistic that I will eventually get drawn(or a sucker).  I wouldn't feel so bad if the money was used to actually help the sportsmen achieve their ultimate goal of harvesting a quality animal.

I hunt out of state and I guess that is my way of dealing with some of the mismanagement that frustrates me.  >:(This will be my 5th year hunting out of state).  I don't think that will change anytime soon. Good luck to everyone.  Hunting is not always fair and such is life.  It is what you make it :twocents:

I have a feeling this will be another great year regardless of all the other factors we have little to no control over.  Good to have a site that we can share information and vent. :mgun:
