Vortex Razor HD Riflescope report
« on: April 21, 2010, 01:47:15 PM »
I got the NEW HD Razor 5-20x50 scope. The Vortex Razor HD riflescope is equipped with the Vortex EBR-1 MOA reticle.
Specifications
Waterproof YES
Fogproof Argon gas purging
length 15.8"
mounting length 6.9"
weight 35.2 ounces
eye relief 3.9"
field of view 5x 13.6 feet/ 100 yards
20x 5.24 feet/ 100 yards
Recoil tested Rated for .50 BMG

Designed to maximize long distance shooting and ranging abilities. The EBR-1 reticle can be used to effectively determine ranges, holdovers, and windage corrections.
Many shooters are very familiar with the MOA system used in hunting scopes. MOA measurements are based on degrees and minutes 360 degrees in a circle, 60 minutes in a degree for a total of 21,600 minutes.
these angular measurements are used to estimate range and correctfor bullet trajectory drop in riflescopes. 1 MOA will correspond to 1.05" at 100 yards. 2.1" at 200 yards and 3.15" at 300 yards.
When used in a first focal plane scopes like the Vortex Razor HD the MOA subtensions of the EBR-1 reticle are valid at all magnification levels. this means the shooter can use the magnification level most appropriate for the situation and still have effective holdover and windage reference marks.
The new Razor HD was built to provide shooters with the ultimate long range tactical riflescope. built on a incredibly tough one piece 35mm main tube and using a state-of-the-art optical system.
The HD delivers superior accuracy and rugged reliability under the harshest conditions.

It looks high tech enough that it should come with a heat seeking missile attached.  :mgun2:

Wow!  I'd be curious to see their sales report.  Hard pressed for a newer brand to offer a product in the NF class and cost and make a go of it. :twocents:  Looks like a gem though.
