Springfield XDm/XD
« on: April 22, 2010, 02:27:11 PM »
I saw that a few of the folks on here have these pistols...just curious what everyone thinks about them. I'm considering a Springfield XDm .40 caliber rig. Looking for input as far as pro's and cons.
Thanks folks.

I personally have the xd 45 compact.  I absolutely love the pistol it is very accurate and I really like the safety system on it.  I also like the small clip for when I am packing but can put in the 13 round clip if I want to.  Have put about 300 rounds through it and have not had one problem...

Co worker picks up his new XDM 3.8 in 9mm next week, i will shoot it and let you know what i think of it.

Great gun.

I ended up with a Glock 23 instead. I shot about the same with both but the Glock felt better in my hand.

I saw that gun too. I like it with the large mag but it was too small with the smaller mag. I've got big hands and am not too comfortable with the shorter grip/small mag. With the big mag you might as well buy the full size. The only difference is a 1/2" in the barrel. That gun is the most comfortable that I looked at in a SC size.

I bought the XDm in 9mm. Love it, fantastic weapon. But apparently alot of guys here think the 9mm is not deadly enough so I will need to get two of them.

I've got the same gun. I tried the XD and a Glock 19 on a rental range. The Glock was ok,but I shot the XD better.

If I can't get it done with 17 rounds of 124gr +P, I ain't gonna get it done with a .40 or .45 either.

I have an XDM in 9mm. Great gun and the 9mm caliber is inexpensive option for shooting. For the price you can't go wrong
