turkeys with the zollers
« on: April 23, 2010, 08:22:01 PM »
Drifterat and I took a turkey trip with the Zollers of Adventure Fishing last wednesday and I must say this is a top notch operation. We got there tuesday evening just in time for an awsome steak dinner and a little BS'in with Tracy and Levi. These guys really worked hard for us, they went out and put the birds to bed then came back and gave us the game plan for the next morning. We had breakfast burritos and lunch waiting for us in the truck when Levi came to pick us up in the morning. We got set-up in the morning and after sitting there in the dark for a while Levi let out a few soft calls and I could have sworn there was a hen right behind me. This dude is the MAN at turkey talkin. We hunted hard all day and I think if the wind wouldnt have been howlin all day we would have put some birds in the dirt. All in all it was a great trip and we both had a blast. That is some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen and I will be back next year for sure! If your thinking about it for next year i would strongly recommend it, great people, great food, and beautiful country, its tough to beat that!

P.S. Its not an all public land hunt, we started the morning on a private farm and ended up on public land that is very inaccesible unless you have landowner permission to go across their property.

Thanks for the report. I heard some good comments about Tracy. To bad you didn't get one but sounds like you had a blast.

The set ups Levi put us in were spot on and if the wind wasn't blowing 25mph all day we'd have busted a couple of toms. All in all a good trip that I'll be doing again next year.
