I like my black ice. One of the smoothest bows I've ever pulled back, not insanely fast but more than adequate. I'm a single cam guy as well, less to go wrong, simplicity is best. I'd like to shoot some of the newer bows, like the destroyer and the z7. For my money, a nice smooth bow is more important than a fast bow. Being comfortable and picking the perfect shot is paramount.

My homemade takedown recurve...just because I love shooting traditional bows and in the end, if I had to pick one tool for the rest of big game hunting, it would be that bow (or another recurve assuming that was the point of your question).  I enjoy the simplicity of traditional archery and always will even though I'm a regular compound shooter.

AN O L Adcock ACS CX 1 piece Longbow.  The waiting list is close to 5 years,  I have 1 but want another!  Fastest, quietest and smoothest bow (traditional) around.  Faster than some compounds...   :IBCOOL:

I am a big fan of my Bowtech Guardian for several reasons...FIRST I got it as a special deal directly from Bowtech which is only available for Military personnel serving overseas. SECOND it turned out that it shoots smooth and just has an all around great feel to it. Thanks to Bowtech for supporting the Armed Forces.

you could not pay me to switch brands from PSE i love my x force and PSE has always been great. fastest bows on the market. i own more bows than most ans more brands with 13 bows and 9 brands and have owned about 13 brands out there and pse is the best hands down. now for my bowfishing bows ONEIDA is the best fast shooing snap shooting and they are just plane cool.

I'd shoot 'em all again and pick whichever one felt the best to me.  That's what I did with my last bow purchase.  Too many variables with bows and I don't believe there is one best out there that will fit everyone's needs.

I'd say the Mathews Switchback; it has to be one of the top 2 or 3 all-time best hunting bows.  It shoots fast, silky smooth, dead quiet, and is very reliable.  Plus a used one will only run you $300.

I am very happy with my Bowtech Guardian, and have been happy with my last Bowtech as well.  Shot a couple different Mathews Bows in the 90's and early 2000's and If I had to pick the best bow all around, quiet, fast, smooth then I would probably go back to a Mathews MQ1.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I'd have to go with my take down Yew and Bubinga longbow.

Oh yeah forgot why. It doesn't need a tune up, it doesn't need anything but the arrows. Will "just work". Things don't fall off it, rattle loose and maintenance is extremely low. A very durable piece and light weight.
