I got one! Spring Bear Monroe!
«

Well, I got one on camera...
Check my "bearadise" from last year, wasnt there more than 5 minutes (after I snuck in) and this guy caught me in the wide open.
I heard him crashing in the brush before I saw him, then bout 30 seconds later, there he was. Got to watch him for a few minutes. He was 30 yards or so. Seemed about a 5 1/2 footer...had a jet black snout.
Later on, I tried calling some rabbit distress....had something crashing in the brush by me, but wouldnt come out.
I was surprised at the little sign, but I think it will get better soon!
This is 1 of 5 videos...I am still posting the rest to youtube. I will post the rest when they get done.
PS, I dont have a tag, I was just there to get them on camera.
Enjoy!

I was expecting to see a dead one.
However, you did a good job. I just wish I could get out and film one. Keep up the good work.

Nice work. I'm going to guess that bear was somewhere between 50-80lbs? I've got a spring tag on the East side and I'm not planning on shooting any dinks.

I would say the bear was more in the line of 150 lbs or so. Nothing huge, but decent enough for some (including me if I had a tag and a bow).

They are so hard to judge the size of. I would say at least 125. The first bear I passed this year on opening day was about that size. Guessed it at about 100#'s, then when I got home and looked at my 90# dog.... it would have dwarfed my dog. I go by ears, snout and height/length. Unfortunately I tend to underestimate to avoid ground shrinkage. If they would just stand still long enough to put them on the scale or allow you to measure their melons before you had to decide to shoot.....
