Points only on sheep, moose and goat.  Just started a new job and won't be able to get the kind of time that I would want to take if drawn.  Playin' it safe!

I voted 8, but I forgot about the spring bear.  So 9 I guess.  PathfinderJR is in for 15  :yike:

There is a 2nd elk tag permit, but it's in the Master Hunter category.

I'm sure you know that "big bull" permit is also valid for a small bull ???     :chuckle:

For instance, I killed a small spike with my Little Naches "Big Bull" permit, five years ago.    :bash:

I think the overwhelming answer for most is "two", as in "too many".

For those who bought everything available, good luck.  (We need the admins to get a new emoticon :twocents: is two cents too much for what's left...)

My guess would be for the same reason I did.  Good chance of drawing the other elk tag he put in for.  If he put in for the cow tag and drew them both, he would still only be able to harvest one elk, hence, losing points in two categories for only one animal.

Deer:
Quality: 11pts
Buck:    pts only
2nd Deer: 11pts

Elk:
Quality: 5pts
Bull: pts only
Anterless: 5pts

Moose:
Bull: pts only (4pts so far)
Cow: pts only

Sheep:
Any ram: 4pts

Having never drawn ANY special permit before, I'm hoping this year I'll at least draw a 2nd anterless deer and/or a anterless elk. Maybe even a quality deer with the points.

I don't want to actually get lucky this year and draw a moose permit and not have the time or funds to hunt them properly. The rest of the permits that I might actually have a chance at drawing are close to home.

OK, that makes sense. I'm short on time and funds this year too, and a moose hunt would be even farther for me, but I figure if I'm lucky enough to draw it I will do what it takes to go on the hunt. I think the meat would just about make up for the expenses. And if I did go on a moose hunt, I would simply cut back on other hunts that I would have done otherwise. I think I could do the entire hunt including scouting in 2 weeks or less.
