Old Blacktail
«
on:
March 11, 2007, 04:09:01 PM »
My grandfather passed away last month and my grandma divided up his hunting stuff. I made sure that i got a blacktail mount that he had done in the early 80s. It was stored in a shop since then. So the condition is in poor shape. So my plan is to get a new cape in the next couple of years and have it remounted.
My grandfathers mount.

Almost looks like they polished the antlers as well. It would be cool if you could find a good cape for him and maybe restain the antlers. I'm sure they were nice and dark back in the day. That's a great memory to have of your grandfather though.
