Hancock Chukar?
« on: May 03, 2010, 05:58:24 PM »
Has anyone heard of chukar's on the westside of WA?  I was in scouting the Hancock property yesterday and saw a Chukar in the middle of the road.  I looked at it for about 2 minutes and was thinking to myself, there aren't chukar's over here?  Am I wrong or did someone release them?  I took a picture of it, but it didn't turn out very well.  It definitely was a chukar, so anyone know anything about that?

People release chukar all over the place.  They are popular birds for training bird dogs.

My dog retrieved a half dozen or so chukar in our yard several years ago while I was away deer hunting and my wife had a pretty good meal of chukar.  It was pretty crazy......the dog kept going out and bringing back chukars and my wife just cleaned them and cooked them up.  Pretty cool. 8)
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.
