Ok.. Don't get too excited guys.  Yes, there are a TON of birds in S. Dakota.  BUT, much of the private land is off limits, and the public land gets hunted pretty hard.  The guided hunts can be pretty expensive, and your hunting over other people dogs, wich for me, pretty much takes the fun out of it.  However, there are a lot of DIY hunts that are very, very reasonable.   We will be hunting with Uguide in December.  $540 for 4 nights lodging and three days hunting private land.  IMO its pretty hard to beat those prices.  Chris has been great to deal with and has a bunch of farms to hunt.  My dog will be outside Winner starting in July for summer camp.  I will head out in late Aug or early Sept to see her run.  Trust me when I say there are a lot of birds in S. Dakota.  Im not joking when I say it wasn't uncommon to move 500-1000 birds in one evening at camp last summer.  Heres a video of my pup last sept when she was 15 months old.  Theres a reason a lot of the Pro trainers go to S. Dakota to train dogs.  Its a crappy video but you get the idea.  We moved 25  birds in this one 5 minute sesson even though you can only see about 10 fly off.
