87Ford and Bowman's Monroe Hunt
« on: May 06, 2010, 09:52:42 PM »
We had a thread going "Were getting closer in the Monroe unit" but this is where we'll update everyone on our hunt.

Tonight we went to check out a new spot we were looking at on Google Earth. We saw a lot of sign.  My dad and I will be going to the same road tomorrow morning.  So far we have only missed 3 days of the season.

What type of sign and how much?

Is it mostly grass turds or are you finding areas where they are eating the grass?

Good luck and keep us posted.

If you stick that cartridge in the krap then in your gun your luck will change!! :chuckle:

The road we were on has a lot of grass growing on it and the feces seems to be all grass. There was 4 or 5 piles in about a 200 yard stretch of road.

Last night I hung 3 trail cams on this road. This morning I checked them as we passed by and I think I got a picture of a bobcat.

We saw a coyote this morning.  We'll be heading back out tonight!

Well, the nice weather seems to have brought the spring bear hunters out.  I ran into some other hunters for the first time tonight and one guy killed a nice one just off the road I've been hunting.  Oh well, gotta be another one around somewhere..  :(

I check this thread every day hoping to see a bear, don't give up!
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
