Got my monthly email from Remington yesterday.  The showed a picture, and the specs on the new Remington 1911R1.  Good looking weapon and with a msrp of 699.00, it is affordable.    Don't know what they will retail for, but is usually cheaper than the msrp,  Take a look at

I saw that e-mail too. Wonder who actually makes the gun. The R-15 is a bushy and some of the other models are made by other companies. I'd be interested to know. Pretty cool.

looks like you can buy the same gun from E-RPC for about $600 without the Remington name on it...

There's a deal on the Remington sight if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the FAQ page on the right where it says something to the effect of them building the gun to Remington's specs.

I told a coworker about this last night and he just laughed.  "I got 3 of them"   WWII era made by Remington...I think he's got 3-5 of everything ever made and about 1000rds for each one
