Are you after brown or black bears? That sow has quite the crease on the head.

Good luck, thanks for posting the pics! You're making lots of people jealous I am sure!

The hunts are kinda broke up every other week going from browns to blacks.
That sow was a brown.

I was busy roleing film with the big camera yesterday and didnt get any still shots of that big boar. I will try and get some today.

Love it!  Keep em coming!
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.

Is this a DIY hunt?

Very impressive. Sure would like to have a better understanding of what you are doing up there. Obviously filming some bear hunts. Are you going to do some hunting yourself? Are you a guide or just tagging along? Are you making a hunting DVD? Tell us more please.

Great pics!

One of my best friends was born in Sitka and he lived on a cannery just outside of Juneau during the summers. I was fortunate enough to spend a few weeks during several summers with him and see the beauty of AK. It is absolutely amazing! I didn't get to see as much on Annette Island in support of Operation Alaska Road with the Marine reserve, but still had a good time.

I looked up Alaska's hunting regs online because I was curious about moose and brown bear hunting. It looks like for a non-resident to hunt just about anything you need a guide. I guess it will be a while before I have the time and money for that.

Let me answer a few questions here...

These are not DIY hunts, in AK a none resident cannot hunt brown bears or grizzly bears without a guide.
Currently I am just filming. if time permits I may be able to spend some time black bear hunting myself.

I am filming for a project we are calling "Grizzinator" it may end up us a DVD or it may end up as a ongoing show, only time will tell.

We are currently weathering a 90 MPH storm anchored in a semi protected cove. This storm is incredible and the bears knew it was coming which is why we were able to harvest two monster yesterday like we did.
