looking for a new hunting bow

was looking at getting a hoyt or a mathews. went to bobs just looking for a  shop that is a little more helpful. being friendly giveing good customer service goes a long way in my book. shot a mathews reezen in 7.0 seems like a good bow. also shot the maxxis and the alphamax in 32 and 35. i seem to like the 35 inch version better the 32 seemed kind of small for me. im shooting carbon express and full metal jackets. im looking for a smooth bow with some speed. used to think a speed bow was the way to go. but i like a smooth bow better now. any recommended shops or bows to take a look at. thanks

I love my Monster 7.0. But I am a first year archer and don't have allot if hands on time, I can tell you it's a shooter. I have had it 3 months and today shot out to 60 yards with confidence. Great bow in my opinion.

the monster is a bit harsh with its very low brace hight for sure and not as smooth as draw. if i had to pick i from you list i would buy the maxxis. i don't like the reeezen's because they are very top heavy and tend to tilt in you hand the alphamax would be my second pic good bow overall. i like the longer bows as well and you will find them more forgiving. you might look at the pse axe it is about the smooth drawing bow out there right now with a price range right around the bow you are looking at i just bought another bow and was thinking about also buying one they are very very nice bows i like them a lot and they are getting very popular. i think cory from xxx archery on here is shooting one as his target bow. if you arn't set on those 2 brands shoot one and see what you think. hope this helps

yes I have hoyt and PSE if you can stop on in and try them out ...the AXE is faster but the Maxxis feels better on the shot. the other bow to look at is the PSE Vendetta XL 35" ata 328ibo and is only 679.00...

for sure go to xxx they have about 100 times better service than bobs and cory nows what he is talking about and will treat you right i havent been happy with bobs service at all if i need anything done to my bow it will be done at xxx

I also was looking for a smooth / forgiving bow and I picked up the Mathews Z7 in March. It is a sweet shooting bow & I have been shooting better groups than ever. I put the trophy taker full containment drop away ( side load ) and am very happy with that also. The bow is smooth to draw, quiet to shoot & still faster than any bow I have owned. Take a look at it for sure. Mike

imo look at the mission's. i will be at skookum archers tonight. i will let you shoot mine if your in the area. honestly the smoothest drawing and shooting bow i have ever shot.  i shoot the missioin eliminator btw. in 29' draw.

Take a drive up to Lucky Shot in Chehalis, that shop is worth the drive.  I was very impressed with the customer service when I was shopping for a bow.  I ended up choosing a bow they didn't sell, but their service left a mark and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I am a bit biased, but have you ever considered a LimbSaver DZ-32?  Fast, forgiving, and a Lifetime warranty!  Just a suggestion.  At least shoot one and tell me what you think.

If you're going to get a new bow my advice is to shoot as many as you can before you buy.

I am trying to decide between the axe and the maxxis. The draw cycle on the PSE AXE is wayyyyyyyyyyyy smooth,,,the only downside is there is a little vibration on the shot..the Maxxis is pretty smooth but no vibration and VERY QUIET....

those are my top 2 picks...but really if you cant find the animals within bow range who cares..maybe use a pocket knife.....

AXXXXXXXXEEEEEEEEEEEE lol i am biest also i don't know was the axe you shot setup with a stabilizer quad shocks etc did it have all the virbration dampening thing on it that you will have when you get it i am sure that it will take all of it out. my local pro shop leaves the metal rod that holds the bow in place on the rack when people come to shoot can you say twang? i always take them out to shoot the bow. if it does not a have stabilzer on it shoot it with one and i am sure you will be fine. i also own hoyt bows but i don't like the new maxxis myself

I only go with Hoyt!  You can't go wrong with one.

The new hoyts are wicked sweet but you pay for it. The limbsaver dz32 is for giving and less money .

I currently own a Hoyt AM32 and I love it but....... if I could pick the best bow out there this year it would be the Bowtech Destroyer handsdown.  I shot the 340 with a 7 inch brace height which made it very forgiving,  It was also super fast had a silky smooth draw cycle, solid back wall, quiter than anything I've shot and was dead in the hand with no vibe.  Basically the perfect bow IMHO.  Try it I promise you'll love it.

I wouldn't really trust bowsite.com on that bow test.  I went on that website and right up front one of their biggest sponsors is Mathews.  Not that they don't make a good bow I am highly skeptical of a bow comparison done by someone who is sponsored by one of those bows.
