Great tips on the safety equipment. Hard to argue with the safety slides! I personally don't use them and have never had a problem. A little common sense goes a long ways, however I do agree and would recommend them since you never know when the wind is going to bite you in the rear. As far as the AMS retriever reel, I find a lot of drawbacks. Hard to pull in a fish when if you were using a conventional 888, 808, or muzzy xd reel you can reel them right in and not have to worry about gloves or cut fingers not to mention slower shooting due to lost time during recovery of hit fish. Windy situations can cause problems due to the zero drag and next thing you know you are dragging all of your line behind you. There are drawbacks in both types of setups however. They are definately safer in my mind, but at a cost.
