I do remember mine, I was about 4 years old with gramps out at American Lake, caught a trout on a Tiger rooster tail.

I dont remember mine but it had to be either a channel cat, blue gill (or as we called them t!tty bream) or a crappie from my Uncle's pond.  I have no idea how old I was but I know that I was walking and still in diapers.  My Grandpa use to tell everyone that I had probably a thousand fish under my belt by the time I was 8.  My Grampa, Dad, Uncle and I use to fish from daylight to dawn during the summer time.  We would have fish frys where we would catch 200 perch and catfish and feed 60-80 friends and relatives.  Ah, the good old days..............

McIntosh Lake- Rainbow and I think I was 4!  Never even reeled.  Grabbed my rod and headed north up the boat launch parking lot and drug the thing out of the water!  Grandpa laughed at that for years!

Mine was a perch out fishing in our boat on Lake Simcoe in Ontario Canada. I was a very young feller. Our family would convoy up there and bring back a few coolers of prech for our freezers! Good times! I can remember ordering spaghetti at a diner up there and getting some noodles with hamburger gravy.  :chuckle: Language barrier? They speak french.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

I don't know what age I was but I had to be under 5. My dad and my mother were still married at the time and we had a little place out in South Prarie that had a pond on it. According to my dad we went down to the pond one night after feeding the horses and I caught a little trout with a worm. Don't remember it, I do remember almost drowning in that pond though

I caught a largemouth on a bobber and worm at my aunts pond, I think I was about five, used to fish there all the time when I was little. She had 300 acres with four ponds on it, all stocked with bass and bluegill. Brings back some memories. To complete the circle, my son "reeled" in his first fish when he was two, but this last trip to Kentucky he did everything on his own (except bait the hook,of course) and caught alot of nice fish and he is three. It's amazing what little ones can do if you let them.

It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

i was 6 when i caught my first fish.  it was a 2 inch sunfish.  it grabbed my hook about 3 feet from the shore,.. i set the hook like i was told to do, (maybe a little too hard)  lol  and the line flew up and got tangled up in a tree....  after about 20 min of trying to untangle my line from the branch,...we had to leave my little fish hanging there in the tree  :'(  :'(

We grew up fishing so the first one I can't recall, but a couple memorable ones, I was 5 fishing with a hand line through the cracks of our dock (don't ask me why, sounded good at the time) and a small perch grabbed my bait. that was fun......until a mudshark a gazillion feet long (that's what it seemed looking through the cracks in the dock) grabbed the perch! I was screaming for help, my Dad ran down to the dock to see what was wrong, and started laughing at me, face planted against the dock because I somehow got the line stuck on my hoody. He finally stops laughing and says "let go of the handline" it took a moment before I realized all I had to do was let go! So I did,
lol.
At 8 I caught my fist King salmon 25 lbs in front of the cave at Sekiu on my Mom's birthday.
Next day I caught my fist Lingcod 32 lbs, same spot.
