Boat Body Shop?
« on: May 11, 2010, 11:21:14 AM »
I need help.  I have my grandfathers old boat, it is an 18' ALUMACRAFT John boat.  A couple of years ago it was swept down river in a flood on the carbon river.  Two of the seats are torn loose, and the gunwale is broken loose and twisted.  This is the boat that I grew up fishing in, I would really like to get it fixed,  but I have no idea how to go about fixing it myself or who to take it to.  Any suggestions would be apreciated.

There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.

If you didn't live so far away, I'd fix it. I build aluminum boats for a living

Some pics of the damage.  The pine needles and sand have been removed.

and a few more.  Oh and I was mistaken earlier it is an ALUMACRAFT, not ALUMAWELD.

Thats a tough one, might not be worth it. If it was a "welded" boat, would not have happened :(
