I'm doing 4.2 miles every other day right now. In about a week or so I will add a small back pack and increase a mile. I have NOT cheated once in 10 days on the Nutrisystem (that is REALLY good for me!!). I've dropped at least 14 pounds so far, I have not weighed in since Friday, but my waist has already lost an inch and a half!! LONG way to go but I am soooo determined!!
I'm hunting Taliban everyday in 100 degree heat. Besides that I'm doing crossfit 3 days a week and lifting wieghts. I'm making sure that if I fall short this year it won't be because I'm out of shape.

If you need more challenge - try adding a trailer and weight that way. It works good for short bike rides, as backpacks aren't horribly comfortable when riding bikes.

Actually I'm going to ride my bike to work Thursday and maybe Friday.
