G5 Stryker or Shuttle T-Loc
« on: May 18, 2010, 06:08:00 PM »
Recently I've read some pretty good things about the Shuttle T-Loc  on here and other websites.  So I've been thinking about switching to the Shuttle T.  I currently use the G5 Stryker but no one else does it seems on this site so I'm wondering if there's a reason why.  So my first question is has anyone on here killed anything with a G5 or a Shuttle T.  And if so what were your opinions both good and bad.  And what would you recommend.

Today during Land Nav I ran into a bunch of hogs  and that has really motivated me to go kill some.  Oh I shoot a Hoyt AM32 set at 70# with a 28" draw.  My arrows are Easton Axis 300's and I shoot a 125 grain broad head.  Not sure if that matters but figured  :IBCOOL:  Thanks for the advice.

i like both heads very much i shoot montec's but have about 30 diffrent kind's of broad heads both shoot well and i would say the strikers are sharper but the t will hold up a little better. i know the new t's are supposed to be sharper now that trophy taker bought the company but have not bought any new ones.

I have shot the Strikers for a couple of years now.  Shot 2 bucks - 1 at 19 yards and one at 50 yards and both were complete passthroughs.  The one at 19 yards ran about 70 or 80 yards and fell over and the one at 50 yards ran two hops and fell over.

I don't see any reason to change.  I did shoot the Shuttle T-Locks just in practice and they did fly very straight, though.  Probably can't go wrong with either.  Since I already own a bunch of Strikers, I don't see any compelling reason to change them (and I think it would be the opposite case if I already owned the Shuttles.  I wouldn't change those, either.)

I have not shot the strykers but I have shot the montecs and they were the worst out of 4 broadheads I tested tonight. (Out of my set-up anyway) I shot the shuttle-t, montecs, grizztricks, and muzzy 4-blade.  Shuttle-t's hit right where my field points did, grizztricks-low right, muzzy-lower right, montec-way low right.
The only downside I see to the shuttle-t's is the cost, and I have heard of the blades coming loose, not out, but loose.
Ive seen 4 deer shot with shuttle-t's, 2 fell within sight, one went 4O, and one went prob 75-1OO (poor shot placement). Shuttle-t's will be on the ends of my arrows come this fall, but why fix somethin that aint broke?

One more thing, the shuttle-t's seem less form sensitive that any other broadhead I have.shot.

Because this past winter I replaced the strings and cables on my bow, put a new rest on and when I recently moved to Alabama my six broadheads have come up missing.  So I just now tuned my bow and have the field points sighted in.  So now it's time to tune my bow to broadheads.   So either way I have started over and now all I have to do is buy broadheads.  Either way I have to buy them.  Thanks for the input.
