well the day started with a 10 mile hike into the area probably 2 hours before first light(lengths i will go for a deer lol). Once we reached the canyon we were hunting we started glassing right away and about 1/2 hour into glassing we spotted two bucks, my 4 point and his buddy (a little 2 point). We decided to wait for him to bed before we made our move on him, so when we watched him enter a timber patch and not come out we knew it was time to go get him. Once we got over there it looked like it was going to work out perfect, we were with in 150 yards and found a fallen tree that was going to be the perfect rest. Now all we had to do was wait for him to stand up. After only probably 5 minutes the buck was up but he wasn't waiting around, I'm guessing he got our scent because once he was up he was moving. I had one window through two tree's, so i held on the opening between the two tree's and the next second he was there and i let out a shot which luckily flew true and dropped the deer in his tracks. Luckily it was early (10:00) when i shot him because we still had a ten mile pack out... but it was worth every drip of sweat and would do it again in a heartbeat.
