I really don't believe being a guide in this state requires a license. Unless you are hunting on National Forest, then you need a license from the USFS.

Mastertracker, I didn't realize you were wanting to be the guide. I thought you were asking if you should pay $500 to hunt with a guide.

bobcat is right it depends on the ground that you are hunting, if you need a license. there are several from what i understand one is threw the fish and wildlife and the other threw the usfs. some guides and outfitters do not need them such as myself because of the ground i hunt.

I'd pay $500 to tag along with an experienced blacktail hunter for the season, even if he was the one taking the shot. A lot of people learn to hunt with their fathers, grandfathers, or uncles and some don't have anyone to show them. I really only started hitting the blacktails hard last year and I've been reading lots of books, and talking to people on here. There's a lot of good info but you have to apply it when you're in the woods, and sometimes having someone there to show you first hand what to look for is a huge help!

It's funny some of you guy's are like check his license and this and that. Well if you just dropped a 100+ class blacktail on public land fair chase. Had up to a 5 day one on one hunt and also were learning how to pattern and hunt these darn ghosts. would you say can i see your license? How many people have hired a person under the table to do work? well normally you check references and or see there work.

i wouldnt say can i see your license because when i drop a 100+ black tail its a DIYS hunt. dont pay a guide for blacktails in open units, get out and put some work in. you can do it with out a guide trust me.

 :yeah:

Troll..
judging by your past posts, it would seem that you know where every 100+" blacktail is in east king county. Do you really need a guide or are you the "under the table" guide yourself?

I don't get why some don't understand the laws before they start polling interest to break those laws publicly :dunno:.

Why would anyone harvest an immature deer when they have unlimited opportunity at mature deer any given season :chuckle:.

Do you smell what the Rock is cooking????....

There are a few on this thread that could be licensed blacktail guide's, unfortunately the author is not one of them for several reason's.

I would like more specifics on the question at hand, like is the poster the one that is offering the guide service or does he have the opertunity to be the client?

It's way more fun to just make assumptions, point fingers, and get people all riled up.  :chuckle:

I respectfully ask, what does it matter if he/ his friend is breaking the law by taking money for "guided services" requiring a license in this State? He clearly see's nothing wrong with it either way, I don't get it.

I'm pretty sure a guiding license is not required for hunting in this state.......
