Bear Wandering Loose in North Tacoma
« on: May 19, 2010, 07:30:15 AM »
http://www.king5.com/news/Bear-spotted-on-Tacoma-on-ramp-94245659.html

quote from article; "Investigators believe the same bear was roaming around 6th Avenue Tuesday morning. Several people reported seeing the bear near Hunt Middle School helping itself to garbage cans. One viewer managed to catch it on camera."

http://www.king5.com/news/local/Bear-sighted-near-a-Tacoma-middle-school-94101254.html

quote from this article and brief movie: "At least seven officers were dispatched to the area. A manager at the  Tacoma Kindercare daycare center on South Mildred Street said officers advised her about the bear. The children are being kept indoors as a precaution."

Apparently this bear is generating plenty of emercency phone calls. Last wandering bear seen in Tacoma I know about was shot and killed by responding police off a telephone pole on the corner of Pacific Avenue (highway 7) and the Puyallup freeway (512).

KOMO says they tranq'd him near HWY 16 and Pearl about 8:20 this morning.  185lb, year to year and a half old.

That's the big year and a half old bear.  Isn't that what the public voted for we told them this would happen I think the bear should get to stay.
yeppers I agree they were warned and they said they liked the bears so let the bears be free to roam the cities and eat doughnuts ;)
