Michael,

Had fun shootin with you yesterday. We'll definitely have to go more often. I really need to get used to the new gun, and just get back in the groove with my shooting. I was pretty embarrassed with my performance. I can say the same about that Remington Mule Kick Hi-Powered Rifle ammo we tried. Although we can't attest to how it knocks down birds, it didn't pattern that great out of any of our guns, and i was even shooting a full choke. We'll have to see how it does when i order my pattermaster. I still like to shoot the cheap stuff, you saw how well IT patterned out of my new gun. 15 BB's in the head, dead bird.

These shells are just a marketing ploy by Remington to sell more shells.  "Magnumitis" rears its ugly head once again.. It doesn't take a howitzer to bring down a duck.  Geez.

It will send a lot of auto loaders to the shop, especially with all the plastics involved these days.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

u also have to remember, with the balistics of steel, the faster it starts out, the faster it slows down, so its not really gonna help out that much with longer distance shots anyway, which is why most people are gonna buy this load in the first place. to beable to make the long shot.

Remington is using a rear braking wad for these shells similar to BC.  This has allowed it to retain it's energy a lot longer.  It will out distance the traditional wad cups.

A friend of ours gave us a few of these shells to try out a couple weeks ago.  As far as patterning goes, they patterned about the same as the Kent we shoot, no weird erratic patterns or anything like that.  As far as the extra speed goes, if an equally dense pellet of the same size is going faster than the other pellet out of the barrel it is going to go faster for longer, it will make a difference at the last couple yards of your effective range.  Be interested to hear what people find when they get to start killing birds with it.

Found one of these artillery shells in the blind at ridgefield the other day.
I shot it today. it was my second round for those climbers i can't hit.
Nailed a spoonie with the first shot, another climbed straight up about 50 yrds, higher than I shoot normally.
That hypersonic round knocked the hell out of that drake. Killed it dead.
Recoil was like a 10 gauge. i had my ear plugs in and it was as loud as my 3in rnds when I shoot without plugs.
I dont think I could shoot them all day.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!
