big o perch

if the pic works...this is a picture of a 14 inch monster perch my buddy caught last weekend when i couldnt go fishing with him...bummer...fishing was hot he said...my dad went out saturday durring the rain with my younger brothers and they brought home 41 fish in only 2 hours of fishing... all in the 9-12 inch range, even Isaac my littlest bro hauled in 6 fatty perch with his new batman pole...good time to get out and have a fish fry..mmmm mmmmm good.... anyone else slaying the perch and panfish?

my other buddy that went with him also caught some lunkers as well....

those are big perch, what water is that on? I haven't started chasing them yet, but hoping to this upcoming 3 day weekend.

Awesome.  I'll be out on Sammamish chasing them this weekend.  Just beer battered up a batch from last year on Friday night.  As tasty as any freshwater fish IMO.

sorry dustin that info is classified.... ha ha ....just about any lake has perch in it....the second one was caught while fishing a chartruse spinnerbate for bass!...

If you are getting those perch along the Columbia, watch out for worms.  Caught some along Hwy 14 and they were so wormy I ended up not eating them.  The bluegills I caught at the same time were delicious though.

that is a good reminder on the worm check,  so far I haven't had any problems...the only ones I have found with any worms  have been from a few perch from a little pond so far in the last couple years...that's why I always fillet them vs gut and cook, it gives you the chance to be extra certain about what you are eating...someone told me that if you just cook it thoroughly that it kills it all anyway, but I don't take any chances with that stuff...yikes... :)
