Two years ago I put in for points only with my modern tag and a week after the deadline, but before the actual draw, a buddy wanted me to hunt archery. It took me a while but I finally got in touch with somebody at WDFW who was high enough up to be able to help me. He had to override the system so that the store could even exchange my tag for me. In exchange, and the only reason they let me do it, was because I voluntarily offered to forfeit my additional point for the year.
