a buck with symetry like this and being a 3x3, many germans would kill for. he could have been a little bigger but he is still a dandy. another year and some german would have been creaming his pants over this bad boy.  :chuckle:  gonna get a shoulder mount.

My mother still has a couple sets of horns from those deer that my Grandfather killed over there in WWII.  Cool little sets of horns.  Nice buck, congrats.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Congrats... When I was stationed there, I was floored when I saw my first Roe Buck !!!  We were on a manuever, when the local warden pulled up to our TOC and began talking with us.  He asked if we wanted to see his "trophy" ? I was a little WTH, this guy is driving a VW Golf, he doesnt have a deer in that car !  We walked around to the back, he opened the back hatch and in the back was a medium sized cooler. Yep, in that cooler was an Entire Roe Buck !  I was couldnt believe what I was seeing.  I asked, is that all the bigger they get ? He said yes, this is a large one.
I am glad that I am able to hunt Whitetail, and Mulies.   :chuckle:

alright Story Time

Hit up bible study and it ended a littler early about 2040 and there was a rolling storm and showers coming through after a hot week so i figured i better hit the stand because the deer would be moving. got in the stand right around 2100 and settled in. saw a car pull up about 130 yards away in a common area for people to park and walk their dogs so i didnt pay it much attention. the deer are very used to them.  i glanced over toward the car when i saw people starting to walk out and it caugt my eye that the woman of the couple didnt appear to be wearing any pants. this required further investigation so i got up the binos. it pays to have good glass while huntin ya know.  So i take a look and sure as sugar, SHE"S NOT WEARING ANY PANTS.  She is super blond with hair down to her but a whit top and hooker boots. thats all she was wearing, hooker boots and a white top. So her and this gentleman walk towards the trees and out of site where they remain for about 10 minutes before coming back out and receiving a "YEAOWWW" from some unsean person who apparently could see them  ;) and they hurried to the car and took off.   a short while later i heard a car slow down on the road behind me which indicated to me that a deer was crossing the road a couple seconds later i look to the left to see a buck hop into the field that angela almost shot last saturday. he was only showing me his ass and when he did turn broadside and i squeeked to stop him and his far side leg was back and i didnt want to blow it out.  so he turned and dissapeared into the brush.

a couple minutes later i see something booking it towards me from straight on, gather my wits and my gun to realise its a geist and about 80 yards behind her was a buck charging hard. they both dissapeared toward the road where i heard a car slow down to let them by.  >:(   i grumbled for about 30 seconds then saw the buck step out infront of me at about 35 yards.  :yike: placed the crosshairs and BOOM. he dropped his head then walked slowly forward for about 10 yards before falling over and putting all four feet in the air. a 196 grain vulcan bullet does wonders on teh pocket deer lol.

Having lived in Germany for 8 years, I know it can stay light well into the eve.  But it seems a bit early in the year to be able to shoot at 10pm/ 2230.
